Dear friends, I have a question about HMI in TIA. With the TIA version available on the website, I was wondering if it is possible to run the Comfort series. When I tried, I encountered an error message stating that it is not supported

Hello
The Comfort series HMIs require WinCC Advanced or WinCC Professional in TIA Portal. If you’re using TIA Portal Basic, it won’t support Comfort panels.
Check these points:
1. TIA Version – Ensure you have WinCC Advanced or higher.
2. Compatibility – Older TIA versions might not support newer Comfort panels.
3. Licensing – Ensure you have a valid license for WinCC Advanced.
If you share the exact TIA version and error message, I can help more precisely!
Dear mate,
I checked the version and took a screenshot of my Automation License Manager and noticed that WinCC Advanced does not have a valid license. I followed the instructions from PowerEn. Could you please share a step-by-step guide to fix this issue? Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
Since WinCC Advanced requires a valid license to work properly in TIA Portal, the error likely happens because TIA detects no valid license. Here’s a step-by-step guide to fix this issue:
Step 1: Check Your License Status
1. Open Automation License Manager (ALM).
2. In the left panel, select “License Keys” > “C:\ (or the drive where TIA is installed)”.
3. Look for WinCC Advanced in the right panel.
If it says “License not available” or “License expired”, then the software is not licensed.
If there’s a red cross (❌), the license is not valid or blocked.
Step 2: Check for a Valid License
1. If you have a valid Siemens license, insert your USB dongle (if applicable) or ensure the license file is correctly installed.
2. If you have a license file, try moving it to C:\ProgramData\Siemens\Automation License Manager\License.
3. Restart Automation License Manager and check if the status changes.
Step 3: Reinstall or Repair License
1. If your license is valid but not working, right-click on the license in ALM and select “Transfer” > Move it back and forth between different locations (e.g., from USB to C: drive).
2. If the license is missing, you may need to reinstall it from your Siemens account (if you purchased it digitally).
3. Restart your PC after transferring the license.
Step 4: Check TIA Portal
1. Open TIA Portal and go to “Help” > “License Management”.
2. Ensure WinCC Advanced appears as licensed.
3. Try opening your HMI project again.
If you still face issues, let me know what error message you are seeing, and I’ll guide you further!
